The city of Oleksandrivka, which had about 20,000 residents before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, is located on the eastern bank of the Dnieper River, in an area currently under Russian control. It lies just a few kilometers east of Kherson, the regional capital, which Moscow had occupied before Ukraine recaptured it in the fall of 2022.
