The city of Sumy in northern Ukraine was hit by a Russian ballistic missile on Sunday morning (April 13, 2025). The acting mayor of Sumy stated that there were ‘many fatalities’ from the missile attack, though no further details were provided. Artem Kozbar wrote on Telegram, “The enemy struck again citizens,” noting that at least 20 civilians lost their lives. This tragic event occurred on the sunny day of Palm Sunday when the community faced a horrific tragedy. In addition to missile attacks, Russia continues to launch drone strikes. Ukrainian air defense units intercepted and destroyed 43 out of 55 drones launched by Russia overnight, targeting areas in northern, southern, and central Ukraine. At least four people were injured, with fears for three others trapped under the rubble of a bombed house in Kupiansk, northeastern Ukraine. A drone dropped explosives on an 86-year-old woman in the Kherson region, resulting in her death, as reported by the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
