Following the collapse of two bridges, Ukraine has launched a massive drone attack against Russian airbases, destroying dozens of bombers that have been targeting Ukrainian cities nightly. Sources from Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) report that swarms of Ukrainian FPV drones conducted a specialized operation named ‘Web,’ targeting airbases across Russia. According to initial reports, at least 40 Russian aircraft have been destroyed or damaged, including A-50, Tu-95, and Tu-22M3 models. One of the targeted bases was the Belaya airbase in Russia’s Irkutsk region. Videos circulating online show Ukrainian SBU Chief Lt. Gen. Vasyl Maliuk commenting on the strike at the Belaya airbase. Unconfirmed social media reports also suggest a fire at the Olenya airbase in Russia’s Murmansk region. Ukrainian sources estimate damages exceeding $2 billion. The Tu-95, Tu-22, and Tu-160 are heavy Russian bombers tactically used to launch missiles against Ukrainian cities.
