Two children were killed and several others injured after Ukrainian drone strikes hit multiple logistics facilities in southern Russia—including four warehouses operated by Ozon, one of the country’s largest e-commerce platforms. The attacks occurred in the Krasnodar region, where debris from unmanned aerial vehicles struck a children’s reception center, according to regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev, who reported the fatalities via Telegram.
Kondratyev confirmed that seven other children and two adults were wounded in the incident, and that a fire broke out at one of the affected warehouses. Ozon verified attacks on its facilities in Krasnodar, as well as in Antigorsk, Nevinnomyssk, and Makhachkala—all located in Russia’s south. The company added that there were casualties in Makhachkala, though their lives were not in danger.
This marks the third consecutive day of drone strikes targeting Ozon infrastructure, part of Kyiv’s intensified campaign against Russian supply-chain assets. Ukraine has long targeted warehouses belonging to Wildberries—the largest Russian online retailer—arguing they supply components to the Russian military. Ozon’s logistics hubs, considered softer targets than hardened military sites, have suffered extensive damage, with some facilities completely destroyed by fires. The cumulative financial impact is estimated in the billions of dollars.
The Russian Ministry of Defense condemned the strikes as attacks on civilian infrastructure. Meanwhile, Moscow claimed it carried out its own retaliatory strike near Odesa, hitting a tanker vessel carrying fuel and lubricants destined for Ukrainian forces at the Pivdennyi port. It also said it struck port infrastructure used for unloading and storing military cargo.
In a separate incident, a Russian missile strike on the outskirts of Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine killed three people, according to regional head Oleh Synyehubov. Emergency services rescued and evacuated eight individuals, some of whom sustained injuries. Authorities stated that search and assessment efforts were ongoing to determine whether additional victims were present.
The attacks come as Ukraine marks its 35th Independence Day—and hosts a meeting of the ‘Coalition of the Willing,’ a grouping of nations supporting Kyiv’s defense and reconstruction efforts.
