Kyiv experienced a difficult night as Russian drone attacks resulted in the deaths of five people and injured at least 20 individuals, both in the Ukrainian capital and its surrounding areas. In the Severnkyivska neighborhood, located in the western part of Kyiv, an entire section of a multi-story apartment building was destroyed. So far, it has been confirmed that four people lost their lives, while rescuers assisted ten injured individuals, according to Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko via Telegram. A woman also lost her life in Bila Tserkva, a community south of the capital, where another ten residents were injured, added Minister Klymenko. The metro station used as a shelter in the capital suffered damages, according to Timur Tkachenko, the military governor of Kyiv, who described the attack as a deliberate act fitting into the systematic practice of the opposing side — the “Russian style,” as he put it. Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that anti-aircraft units had shot down 16 Ukrainian drones between 22:00 and 06:00 (Greek time). Thirteen were destroyed in the Rostov region, with the remaining ones downed in the Astrakhan and Volgograd regions, the ministry added through Telegram.
