There is still a window for diplomacy with Iran, UK Foreign Secretary David Lami stated after discussions at the White House with U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio. Lami emphasized that there is time to achieve a diplomatic solution regarding Iran’s nuclear program to prevent broader conflict. “The situation in the Middle East remains dangerous. We are determined to ensure Iran never acquires nuclear weapons,” Lami declared in a statement from the UK Embassy in Washington. The British Foreign Secretary will soon travel to Geneva for talks with counterparts from France and Germany, as well as EU High Representative Josep Borrell and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, aiming to promote a diplomatic resolution to Iran’s nuclear program.
