The UK is preparing for mass vaccination of children aged 12 to 15 years

The British government announced today that it has told the UK health service to prepare for a mass vaccination program for Covid-19 in children aged 12 to 15 from September if vaccination experts give the green light.

A first dose of the vaccine has already been offered to all children aged 16 and 17 in the UK, as well as children aged 12 to 15 with specific underlying diseases and those living with immunosuppressed people.

The UK has so far not followed the example of many other countries that have given extensive vaccinations to children under 16 years of age.
