UK: Army ready to fill supermarket shelves!

The British government is facing a huge shortage of truck drivers

The British army is on alert, which seems to be called by the government to fill the shelves of supermarkets, after the intense problem that has arisen in recent weeks.

About 2.000 Royal Logistics Corps drivers reportedly had five days to help distribute food and other supplies.

The government is expected to make a formal request for immediate military assistance.

Already, the Road Transport Association had warned that there was a shortage of around 100.000 truck drivers in Britain, making it difficult to deliver products from warehouses to supermarkets.

At the same time, thousands of drivers are waiting to be tested to get the required license, due to delays caused by the lockdown, while too many have left the UK after Brexit.

The problem has recently peaked due to the pandemic, as many drivers have been called to self-isolation.
