The uncertainty about Milan and Inter’s stadium in Milan led to the decision not to finalize the 2027 final in “San Siro”. UEFA issued an official announcement on the grounds of cancellation and informed that applications for the stadium hosting the 2027 Champions League will be reopened. More specifically, the European federation stated: “Since the Municipality of Milan was unable to guarantee that the San Siro stadium and surrounding areas would not be affected by renovation work during the UEFA Champions League final in 2027, it was decided not to award the final to Milan and reopen the application procedure to set a suitable venue, with a decision to be expected in May/June 2025”.
