The idea of 4 men from California, U.S.A., to dress and destroy their luxury to get insurance compensation, could very easily get the “award” for the most imaginative way one can cheat insurance companies. Last week California authorities handcuffed the four people who appeared on video to be camouflaged in bear costume and destroy their cars. The suspicions about the case began when an insurance company was applied for torn seats and damaged doors in a luxury Rolls-Royce Ghost, a vehicle worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. “After further examination of the video, the investigation found that the bear was actually a person in bear costume,” said California Insurance Department announcement. Watch the incredible video: A video that was submitted as part of an insuranceclaim in January appeared to capture a disturbing scene: a brown bear racing a Rolls-Royce parked in a California driveway. But the insurance department determined that it was not, in fact, a bear. — The New York Times (@nytimes) Researchers combed the files and found two other applications to different insurance companies that were registered as causing damage to a 2015 Mercedes G63 AMG and a 2022 Mercedes E350, at exactly the same point. Both applications had also been accompanied by videos with the same “bear” surrounding the vehicles.
