Two Turks Arrested in Athens – Red Notice from Interpol for Murder

In a coordinated operation, two Turkish nationals were arrested by the Directorate of Organized Crime Control in Athens following a Red Notice issued by Interpol. The suspects include a 26-year-old and a 38-year-old man. One of them was wanted for murder under an Interpol Red Notice, while the other was found to be in possession of firearms and ammunition at his home.

Specifically, on Friday morning (04.07.2025), the 26-year-old suspect was apprehended in central Athens. He faces charges related to illegal weapons possession and violations of antiquities laws. During a search of his residence, authorities seized a pistol, revolver, two magazines, 70 rounds of ammunition, and 13 potentially ancient coins.

Additionally, on July 2nd, the 38-year-old suspect was located and arrested. He had an outstanding Red Notice for murder issued by Turkish Interpol. All confiscated items will be sent to the Forensic Research Department for laboratory analysis. The younger suspect will appear before the Athens Court of First Instance, while the older has already been presented to the Court of Appeals.
