Two Escapees Recaptured in Agrinio After ATM Tampering Arrest

Back behind bars are the two escapees who fled from detention in Agrinio on Wednesday morning, April 23, 2025. Police quickly apprehended one of the escapees and applied handcuffs, while the second turned himself in later that afternoon. Both had been detained earlier for tampering with an ATM machine. The 18-year-old and the 20-year-old jumped a five-meter wall to escape but were eventually recaptured. Their decision to surrender may result in reduced penalties for their escape attempt. On April 12th, five individuals entered the area where the ATM was located and caused significant damage without managing to remove the cash cassettes. Parts of the machine were found near their homes.
