Former U.S. President Donald Trump spoke at the Shield of the Americas summit in Miami, Florida, on March 7, 2026, addressing the ongoing conflict with Iran. He claimed the United States is faring “exceptionally well” in the war, praising U.S. military operations as highly successful.

Military Claims and Alleged Damage

Trump stated that American strikes have inflicted significant damage on Iran’s military capabilities—particularly targeting its navy, air force, and telecommunications infrastructure. According to his remarks, U.S. forces destroyed 42 Iranian naval vessels in recent days and struck a large portion of the country’s air power and communications systems.

He also asserted that earlier U.S. strikes targeted facilities linked to Iran’s nuclear program, claiming Tehran was “very close” to acquiring a nuclear weapon before the attacks began.

‘A Service to the World’

Calling the campaign a major success, Trump said the strikes delivered a “decisive blow” to Iran’s military capacity. He described the war not as an act of aggression but as a global service: “The war against Iran is a service we’re providing—not just for the Middle East, but for the entire world.”

When asked about casualties from U.S.-Israeli operations, Trump referred to those killed as “sick people—very sick people,” without elaborating or offering evidence.

Upcoming Ceremony and Escalation

Later that day, Trump was scheduled to visit Dover Air Force Base for a ceremony honoring the remains of six U.S. service members killed in the conflict so far.

He rated the progress of the U.S. military campaign against Iran at “15 out of 10,” underscoring his administration’s confidence in the operation’s trajectory.

His remarks come amid escalating hostilities between the U.S., Israel, and Iran—including repeated airstrikes and increasingly dire threats of further escalation.
