Donald Trump reiterated his assessment that Iran is “on the verge of defeat” in remarks early Thursday, declaring that the United States has the capability to make any reconstruction of the country “nearly impossible” as the conflict enters its 13th day.

Threats Against Key Iranian Infrastructure

“We can strike sectors of Tehran and other locations across Iran… If we do, it will be nearly impossible for them to rebuild their country,” Trump said while exiting his aircraft near Washington, D.C., following a campaign trip to Ohio and Kentucky.

“They Will Stop” — Not the U.S.

Calling Iran “on the verge of defeat,” the Republican billionaire added, “That doesn’t mean we’ll stop immediately—but they will.” The comment appears to refer to ongoing military operations.
