The “elimination of the mandate for” was ordered by the U.S. President’s government , in its attempt to lift regulations governing the pollution of cars and fuel economy standards, which, he claims, unfairly restrict consumer choices. In particular, the Trump Government directive, included in a broad energy-focused executive decree, also calls on regulatory authorities to consider “the elimination of unfair subsidies and other poorly understood market distortions favouring electric vehicles against others and effectively imposing their market”. CORVERSE Trump provided a few details about how the action will take place. One option would be to order the Environmental Protection Agency to review and possibly rewrite the newly imposed limits on pollution from vehicle exhausts, which are so strict that they essentially oblige car manufacturers to sell electric models without emissions. Although car manufacturers have options to comply with pollution limits, they are currently expected to keep them by selling more hybrid vehicles with plug – in and EV with zero emissions, while reducing the sales of internal combustion engines. Although a Congress act would be needed to completely abolish the popular $7,500 discount for consumers, Trump has the power to extend the limits on which companies are eligible to receive the discounts and make other improvements. A legally durable rule could take months to complete.
