Trump on Iran: ‘No Uranium Enrichment Allowed’ Amid Nuclear Talks

in

In a recent statement made on June 2, 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized that there will be ‘no uranium enrichment’ based on the potential agreement between the U.S. and Iran. The message was posted via the Truth Social platform amidst ongoing negotiations to replace the 2015 nuclear deal, which has effectively become defunct. Trump’s administration had previously kept this stance private but has now publicly ruled out allowing Iran any uranium enrichment as part of any new agreement. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi countered by stating in Cairo that if the goal is to deprive Iran of its right to peaceful activities, no agreement would be possible. Western nations and Israel, Iran’s sworn enemy and the sole nuclear-armed power in the Middle East, argue that Tehran seeks nuclear weapons. Iran denies these ambitions but insists on its right to a nuclear program for energy purposes under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
