Trump: No Progress on Ukraine Without Putin and Me Sitting Down

According to remarks made during lunch aboard the Presidential aircraft, Trump stated that “Nothing will happen between Russia and Ukraine regarding a peace agreement until I meet personally with the Russian president.” The U.S. President made these comments after enjoying a plate of macaroni and meatballs while flying on Air Force One during a four-day tour in the Middle East. “Nothing is going to happen until Putin and I meet,” Trump declared. Peace talks between Russia and Ukraine are scheduled for today in Istanbul, potentially starting at 4 PM. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is currently in Ankara meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Earlier, upon arriving in Turkey, Moscow’s reaction was strong, with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova calling Zelenskyy a clown.
