U.S. President Donald Trump announced early Wednesday, July 2nd (Greek time), that Israel has agreed to ‘the necessary terms’ for finalizing a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza. As emphasized by Trump, the two-month truce will be used as an opportunity to end the conflict in the Palestinian enclave. Through a social media post, Trump highlighted that peace efforts are being coordinated by Qatar and Egypt, both of which have worked hard to achieve this agreement. ‘The Qataris and Egyptians, who have put in tremendous effort for peace, will deliver the final proposal. I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas accepts this deal, because it won’t get better — ONLY WORSE,’ he stated.
