Trump Imposes 20% Tariff on All Vietnamese Imports to the U.S.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced today (02.07.2025) that Vietnam will pay a 20% tariff on all products sent to U.S. soil and a 40% tariff on transshipment as part of a trade agreement. Specifically, Trump stated, ‘The terms are that Vietnam will pay the U.S. a 20% tariff on all goods shipped to our territory and a 40% tariff on any transshipment,’ in a post on his Truth Social platform. ‘They will OPEN THEIR MARKET TO THE UNITED STATES, meaning we will be able to sell our product into Vietnam with ZERO tariffs,’ continued the U.S. President.
