Trump-Erdoğan Phone Call: Turkey Backs US Peace Efforts

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his support for Donald Trump’s approach to ending wars, appreciating the negotiation process with Iran and efforts to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Erdoğan stated that Turkey will continue to take measures to enhance cooperation with the U.S., particularly in defense industries. He highlighted the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, emphasizing the need for uninterrupted aid delivery to end this tragic situation. Turkey is ready to collaborate and provide all kinds of support to establish a ceasefire and lasting peace. Erdoğan reiterated Turkey’s commitment to protecting Syria’s territorial integrity and ensuring stability. He noted that U.S. efforts to ease sanctions on Syria would positively contribute to the process, as a stable Syria would benefit regional and global peace. Lastly, Erdoğan invited Trump to visit Turkey.
