The Ukrainian presidency described as ‘significant and productive’ the phone conversation held today (04.07.2025) between former U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to Axios, the two leaders discussed the escalation of Russian attacks on Ukraine and the provision of air defense systems.
Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian presidential office and advisor to President Zelenskyy, called it a ‘significant conversation between presidents.’ The call comes two days after Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin — though no progress was made toward peace in Ukraine.
It is recalled that the suspension of U.S. military equipment deliveries includes Patriot air defense systems, precision artillery systems, and Hellfire missiles. This development has caused concern among Ukrainian military forces. A military source warned, ‘We will struggle without American ammunition against the better-equipped and numerically superior Russian army.’
