A serious traffic accident occurred on the evening of Friday, 3 July, on the Corinth–Patras National Road near Zeugolatio in Corinthia.
Accident Details
According to initial reports, the incident took place at kilometre 97 of the Corinth–Patras road, in the lane heading toward Patras. A truck lost control, struck and damaged protective barriers, then veered off the roadway and overturned in a nearby field.
Rescue Efforts Underway
The truck driver sustained injuries and became trapped inside the cab. Fire service personnel launched rescue operations to free him. Also present at the scene were a patrol vehicle from the Motorway Traffic Police (PATHÉ) of Corinthia, vehicles from Olympia Odos—the company managing the motorway—and an EKAB ambulance. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
