An endless dirge was heard in Trikala, where relatives, friends, and colleagues said their final farewell to the 40-year-old father who tragically lost his life in a road accident on the Pyrgos Road. The funeral took place at noon on Friday (16/5/25), conducted by the Metropolitan Bishop of Agios Nikolaos, with fellow firefighters escorting him to his final resting place. Hundreds of Trikala residents attended, many of whom knew the deceased and still cannot believe he is gone. Fire trucks led the procession to the Trikala Cemetery, clearing the way for the fallen colleague’s final journey. The tragic incident occurred when the driver swerved to avoid hitting a woman on a bicycle moving in the same uphill direction who attempted to turn left toward the DEYAT bus stop, resulting in a fatal collision with a metal barrier.
