Four monks from Mount Athos were injured in a road accident on the E65 highway near Trikala. One monk, aged approximately 40, sustained severe head injuries and was intubated at Trikala General Hospital before being transferred to the University Hospital of Larissa in critical condition. The other three monks suffered minor injuries and are in stable condition undergoing examinations at Trikala Hospital. All four belong to the Iviron Monastery on Mount Athos and were traveling to Meteora en route to Mount Athos.
