The request for the exception of a member of the court panel presiding over the case against actor Filipidis for two alleged incidents has been denied. On Friday and Monday (June 20 & 23, 2025), barring unforeseen circumstances, the prosecutor will present arguments regarding the guilt or innocence of the accused in relation to the attempted assaults. The trial resumed after a request for suspension or postponement was made due to documentation received from the Forensic Laboratories of EL.AS concerning investigations into the mobile phone of the first complainant. According to legal counsel supporting both the prosecution and defense, further investigation is necessary. However, the Forensic Laboratories responded in writing that they cannot determine the exact time required for the device examination. In light of this response, the prosecutor reiterated their proposal to suspend the trial until September. Counsel Zacharias Saloustrous argued for the continuation of the trial and the rejection of defense requests for suspension or postponement. Conversely, the defense sought a delay to allow for further investigation. Despite these arguments, technical issues with the mobile phone, including clock malfunctions and missing dates, complicate the process. The debate continues as parties weigh the necessity of conclusive evidence versus the risk of delaying justice.
