Tragic Workplace Accident in Pikermi: Worker Dies from Electric Shock While Cleaning

A tragic workplace accident occurred on Tuesday morning (06.05.2025) in Pikermi, when a worker lost his life due to an electric shock while cleaning a yard. The incident happened on Fygeas Street in Drafia, Pikermi, shortly after 10:00 AM. A cleaning crew had arrived at the location to remove dry grass and other materials from the yard. According to iRafina.gr, the unfortunate man attempted to move a live electrical cable, resulting in fatal electrocution. An ambulance rushed to the scene, but it was too late. Despite the rescuers’ efforts, the worker was pronounced dead on site. The police and fire department were called to investigate the causes of the accident. The victim, a Greek national and member of the cleaning crew, was working on the specific property. This tragic workplace accident is the second to occur in recent hours. Earlier that morning, another worker was severely injured and transported by EKAB ambulance to Papageorgiou Hospital, where doctors are considering amputating his foot.
