A sudden and unexplained death has shocked the small Cycladic island of Koufonisia, where a 23-year-old Greek woman died late on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. The young tourist was visiting the island for vacation with her partner.
Evening Out Turns Tragic
According to local reports, she had dined earlier that evening at a well-known establishment on the island and later went out for drinks — appearing in good health with no signs of medical distress. However, during her evening outing, she suddenly fell seriously ill and collapsed, prompting immediate concern among those nearby.
Emergency Response and Failed Resuscitation
Local authorities and medical staff were quickly alerted. Doctors from the Koufonisia Regional Health Centre administered emergency treatment for approximately 90 minutes, but efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
