Tragedy in Messenia: 31-Year-Old Woman Dies in Car Accident – Vehicle Collides with Power Pole

Another fatal accident has been added to the grim list of road tragedies occurring in our country. On Good Friday afternoon (April 18, 2025), a 31-year-old woman became a victim of a car accident in Messenia. The incident happened on the Marathopolis-Kryoneri Provincial Road when the vehicle she was driving veered off course under unknown circumstances and ended up in a field, where it collided with a DEH power pole. Emergency forces from the Gargalianoi Fire Department rushed to the scene and extracted the woman, unfortunately without vital signs. She was transported by an EKAB ambulance to Kyparissia Hospital, where her death was confirmed, according to tharrosnews. An investigation into the causes of the tragic accident is underway.
