A tragic traffic accident occurred in the village of Kato Lousoi, near Kalavrita, where a 74-year-old man died after attempting to stop his agricultural vehicle. According to reports from tempo24, the incident took place when the tractor — parked outside his home — began moving unexpectedly, apparently because the handbrake had not been engaged.
The elderly man tried to halt the vehicle but became trapped between it and a nearby wall, sustaining severe injuries. A neighbor responded to his cries for help, freed him, and immediately contacted the National Emergency Medical Service (EKAB).
The man was first taken to Kalavrita General Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, medical staff decided to transfer him to the hospital in Aigio. However, his condition deteriorated during transport, and he passed away shortly afterward.
Local police are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
