Tragedy in Fili: Teenager Loses Life, Two Critically Injured in Car Accident

“We are all devastated,” says the aunt of the 15-year-old who tragically lost his life in the accident that occurred on Iasmos Street in the Fili area early Sunday morning (February 16). The crash resulted in the death of the 15-year-old boy, severe injuries to a 20-year-old driver and an 18-year-old girl, and minor injuries to another passenger. The 18-year-old underwent an amputation of her lower leg, while the driver is fighting for his life. According to the aunt of the deceased teenager, the group was returning from a night out celebrating Valentine’s Day. “The girl inside the car was the first girlfriend of my nephew, and the rest were their friends,” she stated. For unknown reasons, the car veered off the road, collided with an olive tree, flipped over, and ended up facing the opposite direction of the road. The aunt emphasized the unbearable pain experienced by every parent in such situations, saying, “There are no words of comfort that can ease the pain. We learned about it through the news; we don’t have much information about how the accident happened. My brother, the father, is in an extremely difficult position because every parent feels this way when it comes to their child. There are no words.” She added, “He has another brother. My nephew and all of us are heartbroken. We’re waiting for them to return from the hospital so we can be there for them and support them closely during this tough time.”
