The local community in Evia is shocked by the sudden death of a one-year-old boy on Sunday, March 23. According to eviaonline, the child was brought to the Halkida hospital by his parents due to rapid breathing. During examinations, doctors discovered an elevated enzyme level in the child’s heart, necessitating his transfer to the Children’s Hospital. The suspected cause of death is cardiac arrest. The parents, who reside in a village in the Dirfys-Messapios municipality, had previously experienced another tragedy when they lost a four-year-old child in 2020 under similar circumstances.
