Tragedy in Chania: 80-Year-Old Farmer Crushed by Tractor

An 80-year-old man lost his life on Tuesday (22/04/2025) in Skonizo, Platanias municipality, after being crushed by the tractor he was operating. The elderly farmer had gone to work in his field in Chania but did not return and was unresponsive to phone calls, prompting family members to search for him. According to kriti360, he was found unconscious next to the overturned tractor. Emergency services were called, and three fire department vehicles with eight men arrived at the scene. Unfortunately, rescuers confirmed that the man had passed away. The Platanias Police Department is investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
