A few hours before his second as president of the US, TIME magazine welcomes its return to the White House after four years, with a cover that has “opened” discussions. The issue will be released on February 10, however, the cover was published Sunday (19.01). 25) in view of Donald Trump’s inauguration scheduled for this afternoon. CORVERSE In this, the Republican billionaire is depicted sitting at the Oval Office, flying on the floor, with a sharp movement of his hand, objects, such as the phone and characteristic sunglasses of the outgoing US president, Joe Biden. The illustration on the cover is accompanied by a single word: “Return”. In the editorial, the – and officially after his inauguration – 47th president of the United States is described as a “unforeseeable power of change”, while he is recognized that “no matter what one believes about him, he has changed America in ways that were unthinkable a decade ago.” CORVERSE This is the fourth illustrated cover of artist Tim O’Brien, hosting Donald Trump, as reported by the New York Post. TIME’s new Inauguration cover: Donald Trump’s disruption is back — TIME (@Time) O’Brien had previously portrayed Donald Trump either sitting down, or floating over the famous Resolute office (the great wooden office of the American presidents) in a series of covers that use the gradually increasing water level as a metaphor for the chaos and turmoil caused by his first presidential term. The first cover of the series was released in February 2017, a month after Trump’s first inauguration, and portrayed the Republican sitting in the presidential office, in the early stages of the “storm”, with the strong air making the red tie and its characteristic Earl waving. Many supporters of Donald Trump interpret the image as a symbol of the change and renewal coming, as the Oval Office changes hands. “The adults are now taking over”, comments one of his supporters under Time’s post. “Let’s get to work. We need to get order into chaos,” another notes. However, naturally, negative comments are not missing, with critics of it discerning in the picture his intention to recklessly reject the work of the previous government, disrupting the balance. Characteristic of the concerns expressed is the suspension of an X user, who noted that “the chaos is coming.” “One day these covers of Time will see them as we see today the propaganda of the Soviet Union. Absolutely unacceptable!” another adds.
