Three free concerts by the Lyric Stage

In the spirit of the day, the Greek National Opera presents three holiday concerts with free entrance…
on 28/12 and 05/01 in the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (in the framework of the Christmas and new year’s eve events ΚΠΙΣΝ) and
on 30/12 at the Pedion of Areos.

The festive Christmas atmosphere fits perfectly with the bright, bright world of opera. Some of the most tender love stories, such as that of Mimi and Rodolfo in Boheme of Puccini, unfolded during Christmas. The Greek National Opera presents arias and duets from famous operas in the foyer of the main Stage (Reception) at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, with a christmas Opera Gala concert with distinguished singers, piano accompaniment.

The annual Christmas concert of the GNO, in Pedio of Areos, you will be on 30 December 2016 at 17.00 in the afternoon, with the participation of distinguished Μονωδών, in the context of the events of the Attica Region.
Will present famous arias and duets from iconic operas such as la Traviata of Verdi, Carmen by Bizet, Romeo and Juliet Died, the Elixir of love Donizetti, the Magic flute of Mozart, the Ριγολέττος of Verdi, Don Pasquale of Donizetti, Faust by Guno.
The choice of the space of the Field of Mars was, in the context of the openness of the GNO, which aims to present the Lyrical Art in unexpected places and to make it accessible to all.

New Year’s Concert Children’s Choir
of the Greek National Opera
Foyer main Stage (Reception) GNO – Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center
Thursday 5 January 2017 – 20.00
The Children’s Choir of GNO, make “omen” in the foyer of the new building of the Greek National Opera at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, with a wonderful new year’s eve concert.
Accompanied by piano and small musical ensemble and under the direction of Matas Katsoulis, a very active Children’s Choir of GNO will perform works of Schubert, Rossini, Rachmaninov, Purcell, gala choruses, such as “silent Night” and Christmas hymns.
The GNO giving a symbolic character to the event, choose to open in 2017, the inaugural year of the new facilities, with the future of the protagonists, i.e. children who make up the Children of the Choir.
