A woman succumbed to her injuries after being severely injured on Saturday following an explosion outside an apartment parking lot in Thessaloniki. The incident occurred early in the morning near the intersection of Platonos and Agiou Dimitriou streets in the city center, seriously injuring the 37-year-old woman. She was rushed to Hippokrateio Hospital but passed away within 10 minutes despite doctors’ efforts to save her. The anti-terrorism unit has taken over the investigation, examining whether the woman, who reportedly has a criminal record, is linked to the blast. Although the Fire Department was alerted at 5:33 AM, their intervention wasn’t necessary. The explosion caused damage to the parking facility, nearby shops, apartments, and vehicles. Authorities are conducting further investigations into the exact cause of the explosion, while the area remains closed off.
