On Monday, March 17, 2025, a 26-year-old man was arrested in Thessaloniki for shooting two individuals earlier this month. Alongside him, a 40-year-old man was also detained, allegedly driving the vehicle used by the shooter to flee the scene of the attempted murders. During their arrest, authorities discovered weapons, ammunition, shell casings, and quantities of narcotics in their possession. Both suspects, of Albanian origin, have a history of involvement in similar crimes. The shootings occurred outside a convenience store in Nea Poli, Thessaloniki, ten days ago and are linked to drug trafficking activities. The 40-year-old was brought before the prosecutor on Tuesday afternoon, while an arrest warrant was issued for the 26-year-old, who is now also facing charges. An investigation conducted by the Northern Greece Organized Crime Division led to the arrests after identifying them as key players in the crime. Evidence gathered at the crime scene confirmed the motive behind the attack and the role of the older suspect in orchestrating it. A search of their homes uncovered additional illegal items, including firearms, cocaine, cannabis, and drug paraphernalia. Both men will face multiple charges related to the shooting and drug offenses.
