Thessaloniki: Turkish Mob Boss Feared Deportation After Shooting EU Agents – Others Remain Missing

in

A self-proclaimed deadline to testify before the prosecutor was requested and granted today (01.06.2025) by the Turkish mob boss who was arrested for firing at EU agents in a coordinated operation by Greece’s equivalent of the FBI. It seems that he has fully accepted his situation and, in an effort to lighten his position, is showing exceptional cooperation with Greek authorities, providing information about the shootings in Thessaloniki. The suspect claims that he fired at the vehicle out of panic, believing it housed rival gang members who wanted him dead. For the Thessaloniki police (and all of Greece), capturing the Turks who opened fire on the agents was a matter of pride. Beyond this, the arrest of the Turkish national sends a message to other criminal organizations operating in Greece that such actions will not go unpunished. According to ERT reports, the 49-year-old Turkish man fears deportation and extradition to his home country, where he faces charges related to drug trafficking, human smuggling, illegal arms possession, and evasion. Moreover, the Turkish suspect claims he fears an open death warrant against him in Turkey. Meanwhile, his two Turkish accomplices remain at large, prompting a full-scale manhunt by the police. Investigations are ongoing to locate additional accomplices who allegedly helped the ‘Daltons’ gang flee.
