Thessaloniki: The Moment a 37-Year-Old Driver Ignores Traffic Signals and Hits a Traffic Officer

Security footage has surfaced showing the moment a traffic officer was struck by a car driven by a 37-year-old woman in Thessaloniki. The incident occurred at the intersection of Monastirio and Koletti streets on Sunday, April 6, 2025. As shown in the video broadcast by ERT3, the driver struggled to maintain control of her vehicle, dangerously approaching police motorcycles twice. She then ignored the traffic signals from the officer and attempted to proceed toward Monastirio Street, despite traffic regulations due to the ‘Megas Alexandros’ Marathon event. The traffic officer sustained minor injuries to his foot and was transferred to a nearby hospital for necessary examinations. Nearby police officers immediately arrested the 37-year-old driver.
