The trial of the 64-year-old Spanish man who, in a state of frenzy, attacked patrons at a tavern with a sword has been postponed until September. The Spanish man was referred to the Single-Member Felony Court of Thessaloniki this morning (25.06.2025) for the knife attack. However, due to the absence of an interpreter, the trial was delayed, and he was released. Outside the courtroom, instead of addressing the shocking attack, the man commented on global conflicts, the world economy, and peace. The primary victim, a 45-year-old, recounted the incident to newsit.gr, stating that the Spaniard had been bothering customers and attempted to grab a woman with a baby. When the 45-year-old intervened, the Spaniard tried to stab him. After being restrained by other patrons, police from the Kilkis Police Department arrived and arrested him. During a search of his vehicle, authorities found knives and swords. The victim described how the man disrupted the peaceful atmosphere of the tavern, speaking loudly to himself, and even tried to approach a woman with a child. When confronted, the man pulled out a knife and attempted to stab the victim. With the help of nearby officers handling another incident, the attacker was eventually disarmed and arrested.
