Thessaloniki: Mourning for the Mother of Two Killed by Drunk Driver – Husband Speaks Out

In an atmosphere of deep sorrow, the nine-day memorial service was held at noon on March 29, 2025, in the presence of relatives and friends for 50-year-old Chara, who tragically lost her life in a collision with a drunk driver. The mother of two was killed in the accident caused by a 60-year-old driver, who was driving without a license and under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred on the Lagkada-Kolchikou provincial road outside Thessaloniki. “We have faith in justice,” stated the husband of the 50-year-old shortly after the commemorative ceremony at the church in Kolchikou, emphasizing that the arrest of the 60-year-old was a step in the right direction. Meanwhile, the driver is currently being treated under guard at the AHEPA Hospital in Thessaloniki following malicious persecution charges against him and has been given a deadline to defend himself by Tuesday, April 1.
