Thousands of citizens in Thessaloniki are facing immense frustration as the metro line has been out of service since Wednesday morning. So far, there has been no official update regarding the nature of the issue or when operations will resume. A similar incident occurred last Saturday when the entire metro line was shut down for nearly an hour due to a technical problem. Once again, the managing company, THEMA, cited technical issues without providing further clarification. With no estimated time for restoration, the metro has now been non-operational for six hours, leaving commuters in limbo.
