Doctors at a Thessaloniki hospital report signs of improvement in the health of a 7-year-old Moldovan girl who was seriously injured in a car accident in Chalkidiki—where she lost both parents and her 6-month-old sibling.
Hospitalized in Intensive Care
The child remains hospitalized in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Hippokration Hospital in Thessaloniki as of July 24, 2026. Medical staff are now gradually initiating the process of waking her from sedation.
Fatal Accident on June 15
The crash occurred on June 15 on the provincial road connecting Nea Moudania and Sithonia in Chalkidiki. In the collision, both parents and their infant daughter died instantly. Emergency responders found the 7-year-old girl severely injured at the scene and rushed her to the Hippokration’s Children’s Hospital in Thessaloniki for urgent treatment.
Burial in Moldova
The bodies of the deceased parents and infant were repatriated to Moldova, where they were buried.
