A fire broke out Friday, July 24, 2026, at noon in the basement of a pharmacy on Eleftherias Street in Evosmos, a northern suburb of Thessaloniki. The Hellenic Fire Service responded immediately, dispatching 15 firefighters and six vehicles to the scene.
Dense smoke was seen billowing from the building, making the air difficult to breathe. Firefighters worked urgently to bring the blaze under control.
According to ERT, the pharmacist was inside the premises when the fire started but managed to evacuate safely and is reported to be in good health.
There are currently no reports of anyone trapped, and authorities have confirmed there is no risk of the fire spreading.
