Thessaloniki: Christmas tree arrived in Aristotle – 30 November will be illuminated at Metro premiere

The imposing Christmas tree from the Taxiarch of Halkidiki reached the “heart” of Aristotle Square in . The towering fir is ready to be decorated with thousands of lampoons, marking the countdown for the arrival of . The decoration of the city for Christmas has already begun from the services of the municipality of Thessaloniki with the lights placed on trees and columns, as well as on the main streets. Over the next few days the fir will be decorated and the Aristotle axis will generally be ready for Saturday, November 30, when the lighting event will take place. The management of Stelios Angeloudis chose to light the Christmas tree on the day on which the Metro routes officially start. For the same night, the Thessaloniki Commercial Association organizes “White Night” with the city stores remaining open until midnight. Parallel events are expected to lift Thessaloniki to the “leg” with the stakeholders wishing that November 30th would be a big celebration. For this reason, the central municipality, beyond the illumination of the tree, also organizes a large concert in Aristotle with known names of the music scene, which are expected to attract a crowd. At the same time the wooden houses began to be placed in the Court Square, in the “shadow” of the statue of Venizelos. Dozens of houses that will sell from 7 December and for a month hot drinks, Christmas cakes, ornaments and gifts along with Santa’s red house will compose the Christmas Village, set up by the Trade Association.
