The defendant, with a history of abusive behaviour against the woman – and the mother of his children – was sentenced by the Autophorus One-member Court of Thessaloniki in prison of eight months, with a three-year suspension. “He entered the house through the kitchen door. She started cursing me and threatening me, I was afraid she would take the children and leave so I pressed the panic button,” the woman testified in court, stressing that she was afraid to sleep at home, while explaining that she installed this app on her phone, after another incident that had preceded her. The defendant reported that he reached this point because he had not seen his children for a month. “The kids hugged me and while she was talking she pushed the button and the police came,” she apologized, denying she threatened the woman.
