As of now, 132 cooperation proposals have been submitted between Greek public universities and major foreign academic institutions, according to the former Minister of Education, who is now the Minister of National Economy and Economic Affairs. During the handover ceremony at the Ministry of Education, Kyriakos Pierrikakis was succeeded by Maria Zacharakis. “Harvard is coming to Greece, as well as Yale, Columbia, Boston University, ETH, Heidelberg, Imperial, and many more,” he emphasized. Sixty of these proposals will be reviewed by the Hellenic Accreditation Agency. To meet the demand from foreign universities for collaboration with Greek AEIs, it was announced that the budget would increase by 20 million euros, thanks to the valuable contribution of Deputy Minister of Finance Nicos Papathanasiou.
