Voters from one municipality (e.g., Agia Paraskevi) could vote remotely for another (e.g., Alexandroupoli), enhancing accessibility while maintaining integrity. Livaniotis clarified that vote correction would only apply in remote home-based voting—not at physical digital booths. Postal voting will become the primary method for Greeks abroad, following its successful use in the European elections, where ~35,000 of 50,000 registered expatriates voted—more than double previous turnout. Around 120,000 domestic voters also used postal ballots. The measure aims to resolve logistical challenges, such as sparsely populated polling stations and long-distance travel for overseas voters (e.g., South America or Japan). A draft law is under public consultation, with an inter-party committee meeting scheduled for next Tuesday. Additionally, a tri-constituency electoral district for Greeks abroad is under consideration—allowing preference voting for representatives, a first-time reform.
