The difficulties faced by many households and the facilities that the government has managed to improve, the Minister of Development stressed in Parliament today. “The issue of the cost of living, of what we will do and how we will be able to strengthen the available income of citizens – and especially for those who do not take them for a walk – is an absolute priority for the government and requires serious control, proposals and not questions that are self-interested,” were the words of the Minister of Development, Takis Theodorikos, answering a timely question in the House. “You are not interested in all this,” he said, addressing MP George Nikitiadis of PASOK and pointed out that when he took responsibility for the Ministry of Development he doubled the maximum amount of fines, but PASOK voted against the relevant provision. “At this moment, as we speak, the departments of the Ministry and the IPEA are checking 10,000 codes and fines of 1.7m euros have been imposed,” the Minister of Development stressed. “The reality contradicts you,” said Theodorikos, referring to the strengthening of the Competition Committee to deal with cartels in the market and clarified that the last Sunday of November was transferred at the request of the commercial world with which there is cooperation for consumer protection.
