Speaking at the annual ceremony ‘700 Ships – A Vision,’ organized by the ONEX Group, Theodorikakos highlighted that this endeavor would honor the nation, its businesses, employees, and Greek citizens. He noted that it aims to elevate the sector to the level of Greek shipping, renowned worldwide. Attended by several ministers and officials, the event celebrated the completion of repairs on the 700th ship, Neptune Odyssey, symbolizing the revival of the Greek shipbuilding industry. Theodorikakos discussed legislative interventions ensuring financing through the U.S. Development Finance Corporation (DFC), expressing gratitude for supporting a national project creating thousands of jobs. The vision outlined includes positioning Greece as a shipbuilding hub in Southeastern Mediterranean, leveraging the strong multiplier effects of Greek shipping on the economy.
