Theodorikakos Honors Imia Heroes: Karathanasis, Vlachakos, Giolopsos

Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos paid tribute on Facebook to fallen heroes Christodoulos Karathanasis, Panagiotis Vlachakos, and Hector Giolopsos, marking 30 years since the 1996 Imia crisis and the Hellenic Navy helicopter crash. ‘Immortal heroes! Thirty years later, Karathanasis, Vlachakos, and Giolopsos remain symbols of honor and duty,’ he wrote. ‘They live in the hearts of all Greeks—present in our national memory and in our unbroken duty to defend our homeland on land, sea, and air. We never forget them. They deserve eternal honor!’
